I love limited edition stuff, and I especially love limited edition Chanel nail polish. It's F-A-N-C-Y. Before you start rolling your eyes, I know "limited edition" is nothing more than an obvious marketing ploy to make the consumer spend more money. And it totally works on me.
I was bitten by the Chanel limited edition nail polish bug when Black Satin was first released in summer 2006. It sold out in a matter of weeks and the $18 bottle was soon going for $100 on eBay. I finally got my hands on a bottle in October after I stalked this chick who worked at the Springfield Macy's Chanel counter for nearly 6 weeks. I love a good hunt.
Now the bug is back. Chanel is releasing yet another limited edition nail color: a mint green polish called Jade, which is part of the Jade Nail Collection that also includes a light pink shade called Jade Rose. The polish goes on sale tonight during Fashion's Night Out at the Chanel boutique in Soho and will be available tomorrow online and at Chanel boutiques nationwide.
The color may look kind of random in the bottle, but I think it's fresh and has potential to look really cool. Check it out on the Chanel models during the AW 2009/2010 show below:
I've set my Outlook reminder for 7:30 a.m. so I can pick up a bottle online. If it's sold out by then, I will kill someone.
