I've always had a penchant for messenger bags. Besides being insanely practical (hands free shopping anyone?), messenger bags look super chill and cool, giving off that "I'm so busy yet so laid back that I don't have time to even carry or worry about a bag" look.
It doesn't get any cooler than Proenza Schouler's PS1, and I'm dying to get one slung across my body. My infatuation with the bag began when The Sartorialist posted this photo of Vogue editor Lauren Santo Domingo carrying the PS1 during NYFW in September. Oh, envy. It hurts.
The problem? (Maybe I should start with the price tag, but I won't.) I have a tan leather messenger bag that, while not of the same quality as the PS1, looks strikingly similar. I picked it up in Australia back in 2007 for a measly $60, and it's been my near constant companion ever since (especially since I began scooting in April of '09).
Isn't it about time for an upgrade?
