Showers of DQG

DSC_0869It's wedding season! HCG loves weddings, and I am proud to act as a bridesmaid in my friend DQG's upcoming May wedding. As you may recall, DQG's request that I act as one of her bridesmaids was the most ingenious one I'd ever heard of or received (personalized paper dolls are far beyond our normal realm of creativity). DQ's wedding is only five weeks away and, as promised, I'm sharing some pre-wedding fabulousness with the HCG community.

DQ's recent Parisian-themed bridal shower was a brilliant brunch swathed in pink and gray perfection (how's that for alliteration?). Headed by co-MOHs (one matron, one maid) Beana and Dara, no detail was overlooked, and the event was flawless. The candy bar was immaculately well executed, and I took about 75 photos of nearly every detail:DSC_0870DSC_0919DSC_0920The tablescapes (prepped with fresh mimosas, of course) were draped with ribbon and topped with a chocolate Eiffel Tower-shaped favor for each guest.DSC_0877Though this crowd had seen bridal Mad Libs before, it was completely new to me, and I absolutely loved it. Each guest was given a Mad Libs sheet to complete for the bride, and the sheets were decorated and inserted into a keepsake scrapbook. Adorable! DSC_0890DSC_0891DSC_0892A maid/matron of honor basket to the bride included nuptial essentials like a personalized hanger for the bride's wedding dress. Yes, these women are actually that thoughtful. DSC_0939Finally, the post would be incomplete without a photo of the bride herself in a makeshift veil carrying a traditional  bridal shower bow bouquet (compliments of Beana) and surrounded some of her gifts. You look fab, DQ! DSC_0970The ladies just spent the past weekend in AC celebrating DQ's last hurrah as a single woman, and, as expected, the entire experience was ridiculous. To preserve the reputations of those involved, no photos of the bachelorette party events will be posted to Here Comes Gina.
